I won’t be much of a House Wife

If you’re my friend or family you’ve experienced that I suddenly have started to really love baking (feminist jokes a side). However, I usually just make the same thing each time, chocolate chip cookies (which are some darn good cookies, let me just say). But after spending too much time on Pinterest I decided to go out of my comfort zone and actually make something I saw on the site (www.pinterst.com for those who aren’t blessed to know such a great website).

Anyways, here’s what I was attempting via Pinterest:

Taco Stuffed Pasta Shells (pesonally a mix of my two favorite foods, italian and mexican/texmex!)

Cookie Dough on top of muffin pans to make bowls for ice cream

Oreo inside chocolate chip cookies (thanks Sophia Reed for making me crave these!)

and here’s my adventurous afternoon/evening:

The ingredients!

The tunes! (Specifically Jeremy Riddle, who my mom really likes now :) Thanks Landry!)

1. The Taco Pasta Shells:

Success! After feeding my hungry parents, they were pleased. My dad even asked afterwards where I found the recipe, I proudly stated “Pinterest!” and he replied, “Huh?” :)

2. Chocolate Chip/Orea Cookies!

These ones were mostly made by my sweet mom. However, I made the dough.

Complete failure, but my problem solving skills were put to work!

After cutting around the mess, these don’t look too awful!

Jordan came over for a bite! She approved:)

3. Ice cream Cups:

This is just part of the failure. Some of the dough fell off the the pan and burnt up in the oven… leaving one smokey room. Thankfully my dad came to the rescue!

Yuck. However, the crumples do taste good:) Doaja and Maria will have happy once I bring these to the dorm!

Poor muffin pan, probably the most attention the bottom of that thing will ever receive!

:( FAILURE. But! my mom told me afterwards, “you know what, I’m sure it wasn’t those people’s first tries either (referring to those Pinterst folks)! We can try again some other time.” Thanks for the confidence boost, mom:)

So, after a day of cooking and baking (1.5 successes and 1.5 failures) I’ve learned:

1. Sticking with the regular chocolate chip cookies isn’t an awful idea.

2. Pinterest is just too great.

3. Cooking is tiring and filling!

4. My apron (which I never got a picture of) is way too cute! Thanks FACS class freshman year of high school!

5. I really won’t be much of a house wife (and after telling my mom this she said “You’ll be fine! It takes practice…plus you’re dad makes most of the food around here.” and I told her “Well I’ll have like ten years to practice!”)
